Feb. 16, 1:30 p.m. - THE UST Golden Sox scored a 4-2 victory against the National University in the extra inning of their semifinals battle at the Rizal Baseball Stadium in Manila this morning.

UST should defeat NU, which enjoys a twice-to-beat advantage, again on Sunday to clinch a championship berth in the UAAP baseball tournament. “Tuloy-tuloy na ‘to, ang ganda na ng laro natin,” said coach Jeffrey Santiago.

Golden Sox Arcel Aligno’s game-winning grounder to the right field opened the home plate for Arvin Plaza and Carlo Conge, broke the deadlock and stretched the leadt by two, 4-2.

NU failed to bounce back after an impressive double-play (two outs in one play) by UST’s stiff defense that ousted their runners off the diamond. Jan Edward B. Ballesteros
