Golden Sox trip UP, book semifinals ticket

Feb. 12, 5:33 p.m. - THE UST Golden Sox secured a semifinals berth after edging the University of the Philippines, 9-4, in their final elimination round game at the Rizal Baseball Stadium today.

Up next for UST will be either the National University or Ateneo should it win against La Salle.

At the bottom of the eighth inning, UST's Jovanni Ona sent a baseball off the wall of the left field, enabling reigning Most Valuable Player Nikko Reyes to circle the bases and stretch the lead to seven, 9-2. Jan Edward B. Ballesteros
