Feb. 5, 7:15 p.m. - THE UST Tennisters faltered in their respective matches at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center this afternoon.

The Male Tennisters lost to De La Salle University, 2-3, and are now at third place.

Team captain Ralph Barte was the lone dominant force for UST after dominating La Salle's Michael Basco, 6-0, 7-5.

The tandem of Arn Procianos and Bernadine Bering survived a first-set thriller and blasted Ed Amor and Fidel Regis of La Salle in three sets, 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.

The Female Tennisters' efforts in the last two matches were not enough against La Salle as they remained at third place with a 2-3 win-loss card.

The duo of Missy Gonzales and April Santos made easy work of Aira Putiz and Rachel Lucero of La Salle in two sets, 6-1 and 6-1.

Female Tennisters coach Dennis Sta. Cruz said his team lacked the experience against the seasoned players of La Salle who are now atop the standings.

“Some of La Salle’s players are national team members, at d’un kami talo,” Sta. Cruz said. “Hopefully, we can still go to the finals, determined naman manalo ‘yung mga players.” Rodolfo Serafin Jerome T. Lozada
