A three- point shot from Jeric Fortuna gave an equalizer for UST at 59-all, but FEU’s Cris Tolomia nailed a crucial three-point shot to bring the score to 59-62 with 2.9 seconds remaining, en route to a UST meltdown.

Jeric Teng top-scored with 23 points, 11 of them coming from the first half, while Tolomia and Aldrech Ramos combined for 20 points for the Tamaraws.

The Tigers dropped to a 2-2 slate while the Tamaraws improved to a 4-1 card, trailing Ateneo with just a one-game margin.

UST’s conditioning coach, Manny Calipes, said pressure surrounded the team in the final seconds after FEU took the lead, 54-55, from a jumper by Ramos at the elbow.

“Pressure really freaked the boys out there. It’s natural for them to feel it especially in the final seconds,” said Calipes. Rodolfo Serafin Jerome T. Lozada
