July 22, 11:14 p.m. - The University’s oldest living alumna, Amadea Medina, passed away at the UST Hospital today. She was 100 years old.
Medina graduated magna cum laude with an Education degree, major in English and minor in Home Economics, in 1933.
She had worked as a teacher in non-formal education, in a community that made use of vocational training for a living. She was among alumni featured at the 'Q' Grand Program last January 27 at the UST Grandstand.
“Live simply,” she told thousands of Thomasians when asked about her secret for a long life. "Face life as it is, but think positively—be optimistic.”
