Rookie shines as Growling Tigers nip Red Warriors for second win

Ferrer also pumped in nine points from beyond the arc as the Tigers claimed top spot with a 2-0 win-loss card following their game at the Araneta Coliseum this afternoon.

His solid performance rivaled those of fellow top rookies Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo and Ray Parks Jr. of National University.

"Right now, I'm just helping my team win," he said.

Coach Pido Jarencio declined to make any long-term promise for UST, which missed the Final 4 last season.

"This team has a mission right now," he said. "We are taking it one game at a time."

The Tigers came out roaring in the second half, erecting a 21-point lead over the hapless Warriors. Alexis U. Cerado and Rodolfo Serafin Jerome T. Lozada

Nice one UST! Hope you can reach to Final 4. another thing, hope coach Pido can give Carmelo Afuang a playing time! Pra mapakita din nya talent nya sa court.. Go UST!
